The Wipperdurchbruch is a narrow and winding valley through which the Wipper flows through the Hainleite. It gives its name to a nature reserve that stretches across the Kyffhäuserkreis and the district of Sömmerda. The nature reserve encompasses the steep slopes of the breakthrough and the adjacent plateaus of the Hainleite. Due to its unique and diverse flora and fauna, it provides a valuable habitat for rare animal and plant species. The nature reserve is also home to the Arnsburg and Kohnstein ground monuments, which represent an important historical heritage. Due to their location and the diversity of biotopes, the nature reserves are of great importance for the region and should therefore be protected so that future generations can share in their beauty and diversity.
