Winter sports at Inselsberg

Bad Tabarz is a popular place for winter sports enthusiasts. Located in the middle of the Thuringian Forest at the foot of the Inselsberg, Bad Tabarz and the surrounding area offer a wide range of opportunities to experience an active, exercise-packed winter vacation. The Inselsberg region has several ski areas that offer both downhill and cross-country skiing.

The highest ski area is located directly on the Inselsberg and reaches an altitude of almost 900 meters. Three pistes with a total length of over two kilometers are prepared to welcome friends of alpine downhill skiing. A drag lift takes skiers of all ages up to the start.

Bad Tabarz offers its second winter sports area in the town center on Datenberg. A ski lift has also been installed here. The gentle slopes are ideal for newcomers to alpine skiing; the area is also a popular tobogganing area.

Not forgetting the third ski sports area, where cross-country skiers of all levels and techniques can enjoy themselves. Whether skating style or classic technique - cross-country skiers will find well-groomed trails and plenty of fresh, clear winter air around the Inselsberg and partly in Bad Tabarz.
