Arnsberg
Arnsberg
Between Himmeldunk and Kreuzberg rises the Arnsberg. To the northwest, a steep slope shows little vegetation. The last stretch to the summit is formed by a small, steep chaplet. At the top, one encounters a pile of piled-up basalt boulders and one of the most beautiful viewing benches in the Rhön with a magnificent view of the Kreuzberg and the Himmeldunkberg. On the limestone grasslands of the Arnsberg you can find numerous silver thistles in autumn, which are especially protected. The steep slope is often used by paragliders and model airplanes.
Within the framework of a Cross Mountain Tour you can also hike the Arnsberg. A path leads up from Oberweißenbrunn. You can also climb it comfortably on the side facing the Kreuzberg.
The Arnsberg is a popular winter sports area with well-prepared downhill ski runs and groomed cross-country ski trails.
The mountain is located on the premium hiking trail "THE HOCHRHÖNER".
