Obernfeld
Obernfeld
Obernfeld is a municipality in the district of Göttingen in Lower Saxony and is part of the Eichsfeld cultural landscape. The first documented mention dates back to 1184, but the village is probably much older. Like the rest of Eichsfeld, Obernfeld is Catholic. 15 small religious monuments in and around Obernfeld characterize the townscape of the small community and offer wonderful photo opportunities.
Worth seeing is the Museum of local history Oberndorf. It depicts life, living and working in an Eichsfeld village around 1900 and, since its reopening in 1992, offers the largest agricultural exhibition within the South Lower Saxony Museum Association. The museum is located directly in the village center and can be easily combined with a visit to the Catholic church. St. Blasius parish church be connected. The church has been altered many times and today combines different stylistic periods.
