Burgwallbach Lake
Burgwallbach Lake
The Burgwallbach Lake is a small bathing lake, just outside Burgwallbach, a district of the municipality of Schönau an der Brend. The idyllically situated lake is very popular with swimmers from the entire surrounding area during the summer months and offers a spacious sunbathing lawn.
The bathing lake is up to 6 meters deep and has a total size of about 230 by 66 meters. Although the lake is located on the edge of the forest, it still has a very sunny location in summer and the water is nicely warmed. However, a stream also continuously feeds Burgwallbach Lake with fresh spring water from the neighboring forest area.
In the area of the Burgwallbacher See recreational facility there is a building with showers and changing facilities as well as toilets.
In the summer months, Burgwallbacher See is one of the most popular bathing lakes in the Rhön and therefore often very busy. But a visit to the lake is also worthwhile in autumn to soak up a few hours of sun in the beautiful nature here.
