The most prominent and panoramic mountain of all is certainly the Schneekopf, which with its lookout tower is the only one in Thuringia to exceed 1,000 meters.
Toboggan slopes, groomed ski and winter hiking trails offer a variety of opportunities for active recreation. The cross-country skiing garden is available daily for the inexperienced for their first attempts on skis and for the experts to warm up.
