Multispecies grazing Bischofsheim i.d.Rhön
In 2006, as part of the DBU grassland project "large-scale grazing", the year-round multispecies grazing on the Himmeldunkberg with Horses, Donkeys, Mules, Ponies, Cattle and in summer Goats and Rhön sheep. It currently comprises approx. 80 ha. and serves to preserve essential foundations for nature conservation, agriculture and tourism by aesthetic landscape quality and various Ground breeders and many "Red-listed animals" (e.g. wild bees, adders and endangered bat and beetle species), provides a habitat.
Hiking the Himmeldunkberg - one of the most beautiful mountains in the Rhön region - you can of course admire the animals mentioned above at any time. But there is also the option of seeing the whole thing as part of a Guidance to experience. To do so, please contact the Schönner family directly by e-mail: paulschoenner@web.de.
