Reurieth is a municipality in the district of Hildburghausen in the Franconian south of Thuringia. It belongs to the administrative community of Feldstein. The municipality consists of the village of Reurieth and the districts of Siegritz and Trostadt.
If you look at the district of Reurieth from the air, you can see that it consists of two districts and that the Werra appears to form the border between the "Hübe" and "Dübedorf", the Franconian "Rugerit" on the left and the Slavic "Windiskin Rugerit" on the right of the river.
The Werratal Cycle Path, the Celtic Cycle Path and the Werra Castle Trail pass through Reurieth.
The Celtic adventure trail leads through the villages of St. Bernhard and Beinerstadt, approx. 5 km away.
The surroundings of Reurieth invite nature and hiking enthusiasts to take long walks.
A popular excursion destination is the Reuriether Felsen, from where you have a wonderful view of the Werra valley. The "Leinhaase-Häusle" is located at the foot of the Höhnberg.
Another favorite hiking trail is the path along the Werra (called Brunkel) from Reurieth (Drübendorf) to Trostadt.
Since 2003, it has been possible to hike along the "Jagdhaus Reurieth-Brünnhoftal" nature trail.
