Breitenbach
Breitenbach
The village of Breitenbach was first mentioned in a document in 1227 in a land swap with Leinefelde and became part of the Mainz archbishopric in 1373. A special feature of the village are the traditional Breitenbach fisslings - handmade slipper-like socks, which were often provided with a leather sole. Breitenbach is literally at the center of urban development, as the new industrial and commercial area "Am Teichhofe" on highway 38 has just been built here.
