Rohrbach
Rohrbach
The small village lies in the valley of the Schwarze Sorbitz in the middle of high forests at an altitude of 420 m above sea level. It was first mentioned in a document in 1370.
Well-signposted hiking trails and the beautiful landscape make this place a small natural paradise. The Meura-Rohrbach Heath is one of the most beautiful nature reserves in Thuringia. What is striking is the extremely well-kept appearance of the village, which earned Rohrbach 1st place in the district competition for the most beautiful village in 1993.
A lovingly furnished local history room and the historic pharmacy with laboratory also show the connection to the olive trade. The herbal liqueur, made according to the original recipe from 1750, can be tasted and purchased. There is also a Kneipp therapy facility, a wonderful adventure playground with mini-golf and a wildlife enclosure in Rohrbach.
