The municipality of Ilmtal-Weinstraße is a rural municipality in the district of Weimarer Land (Thuringia). The administrative seat is in the district of Pfiffelbach.

The name of the municipality refers to the location of some districts in the Ilm valley and on the medieval old road "Weinstraße", which is now signposted as a regional hiking trail. Ilmtal-Weinstraße is centrally located in the district of Weimarer Land with borders to the independent city of Weimar and the district of Sömmerda.

The coat of arms of the municipality depicts a red, golden-armed red kite looking to the right on a silver shield above three waves (silver, blue, silver) and a curved green shield base with nine lime trees symbolized by green lime leaves with black hatching on one side. The wings of the red kite have a total of 16 wing feathers."

The red kite was chosen because the municipality is home to the largest red kite density center in Germany. The green base of the shield symbolizes the historic wine route, the waves the Ilm. The nine green lime leaves stand for the founding villages of the rural municipality, while the 16 feathers represent the number of main villages in 2019, when the rural municipality adopted this coat of arms.
