Geitersdorf
Geitersdorf
If you turn off the B 85 onto the cul-de-sac to Geitersdorf, you will reach the village, which is characterized by half-timbered houses and old trees, after one kilometer. The village is dominated by the 17th century church standing on a hill and the village hall on the village green. Due to its idyllic location - surrounded by wooded shell limestone mountains almost 600 meters high - the valley is popularly known as "Little Switzerland". The "Rundangerdorf" was first mentioned in documents as "Gudisdorf" in 1349.
The village has been part of the town of Rudolstadt since January 1, 2019.
