Kloster is the smallest district of the town of Saalburg-Ebersdorf in the Saale-Orla district of Thuringia in terms of population.

The Kloster district is located on the eastern bay of the Bleiloch reservoir north of Saalburg on the state road 1095 leading from Heinrichsruh to Bad Lobenstein. Before the Saale reservoir was built, this flat western slope with a shallow bay was an area of the south-eastern Thuringian Slate Mountains. In the past, these locations were also of agricultural interest because their soil type and structure made them productive.[2] A little to the east of the monastery, on a small rocky outcrop, blooms the Stone Rose.
