Seitenroda is a gem situated on the edge of Leuchtenburg Castle. There is no definite information about when the village was founded, but the year 1221 - the first documented mention of Leuchtenburg Castle - counts as such. The historic village center has hardly changed to this day - individual houses have visible half-timbered walls, arcades and the like. The entire region around Leuchtenburg Castle has managed to establish itself as an attractive and popular tourist destination.
