The Windehausen district of the rural municipality of Heringen/Helme is located in the middle of the fertile Goldene Aue and is therefore characterized by agriculture. The village has been documented since 1158 and offers its guests peace and relaxation. One of the village's monuments is the "Pomai Bog", which dates back to the time of the Slavic Wends. The "Pieta", which is over 700 years old, is a wooden figure of Mother Mary with Jesus. The name "Pomai Bog", which in itself makes you sit up and take notice, has earned the winch houses the nickname "Pomaiböcke" (Pomaibucks) among the inhabitants of the surrounding villages.
