Wenigenjena is a district of the university town of Jena in Thuringia. The 5 km2 area to the east of the city center and east of the Saale river lies on an old east-west trade route. The oldest cemetery in Jena, with evidence dating back to the 9th century, is located in the area of the church Our Lady was found. The 14th/15th century hall church is now known as the Schiller Church, a reference to the wedding of Charlotte von Lengefeld and the doctor, poet, philosopher and historian Friedrich Schiller in 1790.
