The pilgrimage site of Etzelsbach with the chapel of St. Mary's Assumption is located between Steinbach and Hundeshagen in Eichsfeld, Thuringia. Etzelsbach has a long tradition of pilgrimage, especially with the annual "horse pilgrimage", which always attracts a large number of pilgrims. The town gained great fame through the visit of Pope Benedict XVI in September 2011.
