The smallest district of the municipality Drognitz was first mentioned in a document in 1335.

Three stone crosses stand under an old lime tree at the entrance to the village. According to legend, they bear witness to a dispute between three brothers in 1190 who each wanted to take over the Niedenburg.

 The village center is dominated by a village pond and the smallest church on both sides of the Saale, which was built in 1300 and remodeled in 1769.

Valuable carvings were created around 1500 and adorn the interior of the church. Children and young people can be accommodated in the youth hostel with its extensive grounds. There they can experience nature, play, do sports and find the best conditions for relaxation thanks to the proximity to the reservoir.
