Mulhouse
Mulhouse
Mühlhausen in Thuringia - first mentioned in 967 as an Ottonian palatinate town - experienced its first heyday from the 13th to 15th centuries. The inner city wall ring with its defensive towers, the moat, the town hall, 11 Gothic churches and many town houses have been preserved from this period. The radical reformer Thomas Müntzer preached in St. Marien in 1525 and Johann Sebastian Bach played the organ in Divi Blasii in 1707/08. The renovation of the listed old town is clearly showing visible results.
