The mayor of the village is Ms. Christina Tasch. Küllstedt belongs to the administrative community of Westerwald-Obereichsfeld. Küllstedt was first mentioned in a document in 1171 as Cullestete. Sights include the parish church "St. Georg und Juliana" (largest village church in the Eichsfeld) built in 1930, the Eichsfeld Heimatstube, the Madeberg with the Isekedenkmal, Stationsweg with Ölberggrotten and Antoniuskapelle, the Bonifatiuskreuz from the 11th century, the natural monument Kastanienallee and extensive hiking trail networks.
