The village of Steinbach was first mentioned in 1406 and, like Langenbach, is known for the largest natural stage in Thuringia, which was built between 1955 and 1957 and makes the region popular with its 3,000 seats. Nestled in the high forest, visitors have always been fascinated by the combination of culture and nature. Steinbach is the highest village in the municipality of Schleusegrund and offers a wonderful view of the Franconian countryside. The net making has been preserved from 1995 to the present day. The tradition of the fair and baking in the bakehouse is maintained by the local associations. Since 2008, the annual hill climb has taken place on the natural track from Waldau to Steinbach.
