Fröbitz is a district of Bad Blankenburg

The place name of the former Adelsdorf is of Slavic origin (vrobica = logging) and can therefore be traced back to deforestation. Although the settlement at 380 m above sea level is much older, it is not mentioned in written records until 1375. The economic center of the village was the manor located at the highest point. Fröbitz has always belonged to Quittelsdorf in church terms, and schoolchildren also attended the Quittelsdorf school until the new village school was built in Cordobang in 1920. Fröbitz was incorporated into Cordobang in 1950. After reunification, the "Fröbitzer Hof" restaurant was created from a vacation property. At the upper end of the village, the Fröbitzer Reiterhof was established in an old farmhouse, which has made a name for itself among Thuringia's equestrian sports enthusiasts. The "Fröbitz Riding and Driving Club" has been organizing very popular horse shows here for many years. The village's associations are mainly supported by the "Landfrauenverein Fröbitz e. V." and the fire department. Village festivals invite you to celebrate and linger. The "Halbe Welt" viewing platform (450 m above sea level) on the way to Cordobang is also a worthwhile excursion destination.
