Schönstedt
Schönstedt
Schönstedt is located on the edge of the Thuringian Basin, five kilometers northwest of the spa and rose town of Bad Langensalza and at the gates of the UNESCO Hainich National Park. Schönstedt was first mentioned in a document in the middle of the 9th century. The silhouette of the village is dominated by the two church towers of the St. Martini and Beatae Mariae Virginis churches. The clinker brick building of the community tavern, which was built in 1899 and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1999, is a cultural and social meeting place. Situated directly on the renovated Anger, both buildings characterize the center of Schönstedt.
