The village of Teistungen was first mentioned as "villa Eistingen" in 1090. A leisure facility is located on the former monastery grounds with integrated hotel complex "Teistungenburg". At the foot of the hotel complex is the Grenzland Museum and an educational center. The "Glockengraben" reservoir offers numerous hiking opportunities and additional recreational facilities. Extensive sports facilities can be found at the "Am Klosterholz" sports complex.
