Sundrema
Sundrema
The small clustered village of Sundremda in the valley basin at the foot of the Linzig and Lohberg mountains is around 1230 years old according to the first documentary mention. It lies at the foothills of the Thuringian Forest and is surrounded by gentle hills, meadows and fields. The landscape invites you to linger, hike or cycle along the Saale-Ilm mill cycle path.
Next to the medieval-looking stone church, the small "Edelweiß" clubhouse with its cosy clubroom forms the center of the village. The club has given itself this name in reference to the "Edelweiß" fraternity from the 1920s and its flag, which bears the edelweiss. Under its auspices, the three major village festivals - carnival, spring festival and fair - are organized and the activities of the member associations - fruit growing, country women and fire department - are supported. In general, the strength of this village is its community, so that a lively village life is a matter of course for the inhabitants.
The village has been part of the town of Rudolstadt since January 1, 2019.
