Helbedündorf OT Friedrichsrode
The municipality of Helbedündorf with its six districts extends picturesquely from the Helbetal valley in the Hainleite to the Thuringian basin. Most of the small villages were established in the Middle Ages - the oldest district, Keula, has been documented since 967. The youngest village, Friedrichsrode, was only established a good 300 years ago. The district of Friedrichsrode lies in the middle of the extensive beech forests of the Hainleite. The village ensemble with its half-timbered houses, barns, stables and church is a listed building. The Kunsthof with its workshops, creative workshops, event and accommodation facilities on the extensive grounds is an exceptional offer. The annual highlight of the events program is the art market in June, which has been attracting hundreds of guests for 30 years with numerous artists, musicians, (art) craftsmen and other exhibitors. Thanks to its attractive landscape with many hiking trails, the municipality also invites you to be active in nature!
