UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Thuringian Forest
The state-recognized climatic health resort Stützerbach is idyllically situated at an altitude of 590-828 m on the north-eastern slope of the Thuringian Forest in the middle of a magnificent low mountain range landscape. An unspoilt landscape, crystal-clear streams and rare plants and animals can be found here in the middle of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Thuringian Forestup close and personal.
The town itself is characterized by the life and work of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, a rich glass tradition and the attachment to the teaching of Pastor Sebastian Kneipp. Kneipp cures were carried out in Stützerbach as early as 1932. The holistic therapy concept harmonizes body, mind and soul in a natural way. A Kneipp cure can balance physical and mental dysfunctions and revive the spirits. The resort has approx. 450 beds in hotels, guesthouses, vacation homes and apartments.
