The district Aschara is 7.7 km away from Bad Langensalza and has 441 inhabitants (as of 12/31/2019). On 01.01.1994 Aschara was incorporated.

The village was first mentioned in 786. Directly on the main street there is the church of St. Peter - built in 1749. Inside the church you can see the organ created by the organ creator Heinrich Gottfried Trost. For 200 years, a simple fountain basin made of sandstone, fed by a never-ending spring, has stood in front of the church.
