Dillstädt
Dillstädt is a municipality in the district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen in the Free State of Thuringia, which belongs to the Dolmar-Salzbrücke administrative community. The municipality is located on the Hasel river in the southern Thuringian Forest and has around 750 inhabitants. The first documented mention of Dillstädt dates back to 1206, but there are also traces of older settlements such as Germelshausen and Sieholz. The Church of Dillstädt was built between 1593 and 1596 and still has some Gothic elements. The municipality also has a Heimatstube, which provides information about the former life of the people of Dillstadt, as well as the Secret Santa stoneswhich jagged limestone cliffs are. Dillstädt is an idyllic place between Rennsteig and Rhön, which invites you to go cycling and hiking.
