Bernterode and Bernterode-Schacht are districts of the municipality of Breitenworbis in the Thuringian district of Eichsfeld. Bernterode is located in the Wipper valley approximately nine kilometers east of Leinefelde-Worbis. The settlement of Bernterode-Schacht, located one kilometer to the northwest, was built when the potash plant was opened.
