Thuringian Winery Zahn
Thuringian Winery Zahn
Although it was not André's dream job from the very beginning, the winemaker is all the happier today to be able to run his winery in Kaatschen, Thuringia, in the third generation.
On 12 hectares, the grapes of the Zahn winery grow in 1600 hours of sunshine a year on red sandstone, loess loam, Keuper and the so distinctive shell limestone soil. All these circumstances are the basis for the full-bodied wines that later emerge in the cellar.
From the harvest in the vineyard to the finished wine in the bottle, André works according to the philosophy "Nature in the foreground, technology in the background". His wines should be honest and typical of the region.
You can taste what this tastes like directly in Kaatschen an der Saale. The Thuringian wine taverns are located opposite the winery with an adjoining wine shop. The menu naturally includes wines carefully handcrafted by André and his team, which can be enjoyed in combination with excellent food.
