It stands for the representation of the interests of winegrowers and for the preservation and promotion of viticulture and the wine cultural landscape. In 1990 the association was registered, in 1996 an office was installed in Freyburg and the area wine promotion was built up. It ensures identification in the region with the cultural asset wine and increases the level of awareness of the Saale-Unstrut wine-growing region beyond its borders.
