Studio Cosima Göpfert, visual artist (Dipl. künstl.)
Born in Apolda, she trained as a graphic designer after graduating from high school. This was followed by studies in free art at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. Since 2012 Cosima Göpfert works as a freelance artist.
In her studio and porcelain workshop in Bechstedtstraß, she creates conceptual artistic works as well as wall objects and sculptures that can be classified as Op Art or Concrete Art.
One of their special projects is called "Kleine Brötchen & Warme Semmeln". Originally, the porcelain roll sculptures were intended as a witty commentary on the situation of visual artists during the Corona crisis.
With the support of Porzellanmanufaktur Kahla, this has become a charitable art project. With the purchase of the bakery sculptures (a bun, a double bun or a loaf of bread) 20% will be donated to a charity organization to help improve the adverse living conditions for children in famine regions, war zones and refugee camps.
