Trützschler's Milk and Advertising Museum

For more than 20 years, Hildburghausen has had a exceptional private collection accessible to the public.

In more than three decades, the Trützschler family has worked on two original topics more than 1,000 exhibits compiled.

The first complex has the Dairy to the content. From A for tension to Z for centrifuge, it's all about the production of milk, curd cheese and cheese on the farm in the old days as well as in modern dairies.

Among other things, a collection of hand-operated milk separators and butter churns can be seen. The viewer learns interesting details from petty bourgeois livestock farming, about the cooperative system, about accounting in dairies and about laboratory business.

The second collection is dedicated to the Advertising. Around 300 enamel advertising signs from the time from 1900 until the thirties are shown.

Brand names such as Knorr, Erdal, Odol and Persil are represented. But local companies also advertised back then. For example, the Schönbrunn spice mill and the Heßberg brewery. The artistic design and the colorfulness of the signs are impressive. Under behind a closed door there is a surprise.

Coffee and homemade cake also exists.

The museum can be visited on Saturdays between 13.00 and 17.00, and by appointment.
