Shell fountain Weimar
Shell fountain Weimar
Originally it stood at the house of Frau von Stein. Maria Pavlovna donated it, the Bad Berka stonemason Dornberger carried out the order. A special feature is the richly decorated back wall. The centrally arranged shells give the fountain at the outer wall of the Weimarhallenpark its name. A grimace-like lion's head stands out as a gargoyle. Dolphins swimming down the sides are indicated. A dog watering trough adjoins the fountain basin. In 1971 it was restored for the last time.
