Gräfenwarth
Gräfenwarth
The district of Gräfenwarth, which belongs to the town of Schleiz, is idyllically situated on the edge of the Thuringian Slate Mountains and close to the banks of Germany's largest reservoir, the Bleilochtalsperre.
Numerous hiking trails invite you to explore the densely wooded region along the Bleiloch reservoir. One highlight here is the mushroom adventure trail. The 6 km circular trail has 13 stations where you can learn about fairy-tale, legendary and scientifically proven facts from the world of mushrooms.
The Oberland Cycle Path also crosses the small village of Gräfenwarth. From here, you can cycle on asphalt to the dam wall of the Bleiloch reservoir or visit the towns of Saalburg and Schleiz.
Furthermore, the Wettera flows into the Saale in the local area.
