Petersberg Zoo
Petersberg Zoo
Since 1965 there has been a small zoo on 1.5 hectares of natural terrain. At present it offers accommodation to about 350 animals of about 45 species. Our main focus is the breeding and keeping of domestic and wild animals such as lynxes, foxes, horses and sheep, but also storks and many other species. You can also see and observe a number of particularly publicized animals, such as the rare polar wolves. Especially recommended is the porcupine enclosure - you've certainly never been this close to a porcupine - and the spacious walk-through Australia enclosure, where parakeets and parmigaroos can be seen up close. The zoo is designed to be extremely family-friendly. Animals are shown - at least as far as it is at all possible - to touch and feed. For animal welfare reasons, food is only available at the cash desk or at the feeding machines.
By the way, it is also possible to adopt animals or participate in exciting feeding rounds through the Petersberg Zoo.
