Ackerwand Weimar
Ackerwand Weimar
The Ackerwand in Weimar served as a former building boundary between Goethe's house garden on the Frauenplan and the parallel plots of land in the picturesque Seifengasse. The street was laid out around 1800 and in the following years was gradually built on the north side beyond the city limits. Today, the street, which is mainly lined with late classicist houses, leads into Wielandplatz. At the eastern end is the former home of Charlotte von Stein and the Pompejanische Bank, adjacent to which is Beethovenplatz.
