The maple park in Ilfeld, with its many international maple tree species, is a jewel whose blaze of color is particularly impressive in autumn. The maple collection comprises around 270 trees, including very old trees such as a 140-year-old native sycamore with a mighty crown. The Förderverein Ahornpark Ilfeld e.V. is committed to maintaining the park. Almost every newly planted tree has one or more sponsors. The trees are often dedicated to a special event such as a wedding or birth. The freely accessible park not only attracts visitors with its variety of maple species, but also with its sweeping views of the surrounding landscape.
