Archaeological open-air site Funkenburg Westgreußen
The Funkenburg open-air archaeological museum in West Prussia is a unique reconstruction of a Germanic settlement in Germany. During excavations in the 1970s, archaeologists found traces of a Germanic fortified settlement with around 60 huts, a front and main rampart, palisades and ditches. The reconstruction was built on the original site and includes reconstructed dwellings and workhouses, palisades, towers and ramparts. Events are organized throughout the year to recreate life in the Germanic village. There are also offers for schoolchildren, guided tours for groups and vacation camps.
