Augustinian Monastery Germershausen
Following the departure of the Capuchins, the Augustinian monastery in Germershausen was founded in 1864. The monastery includes a chapel and a monastery garden. In addition to looking after the pilgrimage in Germershausen, the school education of children in northern Eichsfeld was to be promoted. After the first pupils were admitted in 1888, the monastery school was founded in 1905. Due to the increase in the number of pupils, the monastery school was extended in 1929. The monastery school was closed in 1970. A new building for the monastery was erected in the monastery garden in 1995. In 2019, the last Augustinians left Germershausen and the monastery was abandoned. The future use of the monastery buildings is still open. On December 1, 2021, the house chapel of the educational institution was profaned St. Martin.
