The Bach ancestral home, also known as the Oberbackhaus, was already inhabited by Veit Bach and has housed a Bach memorial since 1994 with a museum about the village of Wechmar in Veit Bach's time, today's Bach care of the village and exhibition sections on the Thuringian minstrels and instrument makers. In the courtyard you can admire the largest surviving family tree of the Bach family, which is supplemented in the museum by numerous other family trees from different periods. The cradle of the Bach family lies in the heart of Thuringia. The Bach ancestral home is an internationally recognized Bach memorial.
