Bad Klosterlausnitz Moor
Bad Klosterlausnitz Moor
The Klosterlausnitz Moor, also known as the Red Puddle Swamp, is a nature reserve surrounded by beech trees to the north of Bad Klosterlausnitz. The area is within walking distance of the parking lot of the spa complex in Bad Klosterlausnitz and is closely linked to the spa treatments in the Kurmittelhaus. The route of the moor railroad, which connected the cultivation area with the spa, can still be seen today. Peat extraction ended in 1972.
Due to its proximity to the spa town and its special character as a moor, the area is a destination for those seeking relaxation. In addition to signposted paths, information boards provide information on the special natural features of the area and its historical use.
