Picturesquely situated on the banks of the Ilm River in the city canon of Weimar, Jena, Naumburg, the spa and wine town of Bad Sulza lies between rolling hills along the river valleys of the Ilm and the Saale and offers a dreamlike unobstructed view of sunny wine terraces. The healing springs in the spa park are a guarantee for the health and well-being of the people who spend their cure or enjoy their vacation here. The Ilmtal cycle path also passes through Bad Sulza and the spa park.

In order to understand the interrelationship between culture, nature and people of the region, which has developed over the past two centuries, you should plan an exploratory tour on the themed hiking trail "Brine and Salt".
After all, the brine springs are the origin of the designation as a brine spa. The entire spa park is protected as a historic monument and therefore our passion. The music pavilion from 1873, the historic inhalatorium from 1903 and the drinking hall from 1910 are lovingly maintained and open to visitors. The unmistakable character of the park, however, goes back to the extensive saline installations, which are being explored and restored piece by piece these days. 
Salt production as the lifeline of the spa town
A large part of the facilities has already been brought back to life. Thus, the graduation house "Louise" and the inhalatorium show themselves in a new guise, in the next step the Darnstedt brine drilling towers will be modernized. Wine and Dionisios - the spirits of the city
Wine has been grown in Bad Sulza and the surrounding area for over 800 years. The soil is fertile, calcareous and the hills catch the sun. The Saale-Unstrut region is the northernmost quality wine-growing area in Germany. A wine that is known far beyond the borders of Thuringia. The traditional starting point of the Saale-Unstrut Wine Route is the Thuringian Wine Gate in the spa gardens of Bad Sulza.
Thuringian wine festival
The Thuringian Wine Festival is celebrated annually on the third weekend in August. An integral part of the grape harvest. A highlight of the festivities is the coronation of the Bad Sulza Wine Queen. She is on the road for a year as an ambassador for the region's wine, far beyond the state's borders. 
The wine trail
The wine trail through the town and the surrounding area is an educational and nature trail. A footbath in the Kneipp basin, in the immediate vicinity of the Bad Sulza tourist information office, offers a welcome cool-down in between.
