What stories they could tell, the historic house and farm buildings in the Thuringian Open-Air Museum Hohenfelden! They give us an authentic impression of old living and working environments. The latter were precisely divided up.

Farmer looking for a wife? Not necessary, if she wasn't in the kitchen or in the stable, she could only be in the garden. The lovingly and elaborately reconstructed kitchen and ornamental gardens in Hohenfelden bear witness to a wonderful variety of vegetables, berries, herbs and flowers. And behind it, the orchard meadow, above whose treetops the wings of a windmill greet you ... But that's another story.
