Walk-in sundial
Walk-in sundial
In 2002, the clockmaker Axel Lachs made the walk-in sundial for Eberstedt, in which the observer himself casts the shadow on the correct time and serves as a so-called shadow needle.
The walk-in sundial has great educational value, as children learn the connection between the course of the sun and the time in a playful way using the sundial. The observers are actively involved in the time display by casting shadows themselves. There is also a small sundial that shows the date rather than the time.
