The district of Benshausen is located on the southern slope of the Thuringian Forest. Half-timbered houses in the Henneberg-Franconian style as well as cellar vaults and grave monuments testify to the wine trade and freight hauling in Benshausen at that time.
Well-signposted hiking trails and shelters invite hikers to explore the landscape and surroundings. With the Lapp Museum and local history museum, Benshausen also offers culture. The heated outdoor pool offers many possibilities for sports activities as well as for fun and games with competition lanes, a non-swimmer and toddler area.
