The Rabensteiner Stollen, the only hard coal mine in the Harz, provides a fascinating insight into the world underground.
After the adventure ride on the „Rabenstein Express“, you will be shown how coal was mined in the past. You can see original workplaces, charred coal seam areas and mining galleries that are often only 60 cm high. When the compressed air-powered machines come into action, you can get an idea of the inhospitable working conditions underground. If you like, you can also take a ride on a bicycle trolley in the mine. There are also interesting fossil finds to marvel at. You can even find a fossil or two on the spoil tip itself. A small bistro with a cozy coffee garden and a museum store round off the offer.
