The Bergbaude Geisenhimmel - first built as a refuge in 1928 - is located at an altitude of 550 m in the middle of alpine meadows. As a gem above Benshausen, it is one of the most beautiful mountain huts in the Thuringian Forest. Hiking enthusiasts, cyclists and skiers from near and far have been heading for Geisenhimmel for many decades. You can stop off here in comfort and enjoy the unique atmosphere.
The Geisenhimmel mining lodge can only be reached on foot - except in exceptional cases. From the Norma parking lot, an approx. 1 kilometer long path leads to the Geisenhimmel in about 20 minutes. It is therefore best to leave your car at the Norma parking lot and set off directly.
