The Bergwegteich and Schafteich ponds are located to the east of the Stotternheimer and Luthersee lakes. Together with Lake Luther, the two ponds are considered landscape waters and form a natural unit that is only accessible via hiking and cycling trails.

The Bergwegteich and Schafteich should preferably be subject to natural succession.
